Cloud Next was launched in 2008 with a mission of making hosting accessible to everyone, whatever their budget. With competitive pricing, configurable hosting packages, auto scaling hosting platform and advanced features we want to provide this to all.

Through a long term commitment to let innovation drive our business we have achieved this mission and continue to innovate and invest to this day. We are privately owned and our directors have over 45 years of hosting experience.

Everyone at Cloud Next is passionate about hosting and we mean it - we love what we do! Our sales, support and all hosting, servers and infrastructure is 100% UK based.

2023 & Beyond

To Infinity & Beyond

We never stand still and are always improving, updating and adapting our hosting platform to ensure customers have access to the features and hosting space to keep their sites fast and secure. We continue to improve our Migration Centre making it easier for customers to transfer their websites and mailboxes to us - free of charge. Through listening to customer feedback we continue to evolve and would love you to join us.

2022

New VPS & Managed VPS

We launched our new cloud-based SSD VPS that puts you in full control of your server on your favourite OS. For those customers who want a VPS but do not want to manage it, we launched Managed VPS that gives you the power of a VPS, without the extra work.

2017-2021

New SSD Hosting & WordPress

The start of a new hosting platform with 100% SSD hosting, faster and more secure hosting at the same affordable prices. We also added more and more features throughout the years including our CDN, malware scanning, DDoS protection plus much more. This new platform allowed to also offer free wildcard SSL certificates to all customers on all platforms and a dedicated and optimised WordPress platform.

2012-2016

Hosting v1

To supplement our VPS offering and for customers who may not want to manage their own VPS, we launched our hosting platform. With our Linux platforms, our Hosting Control Panel enabled a fully managed interface for customers to easily manage and host their sites with us.

2008-2011


Cloud Next Begins

Starting in 2008 we began offering Cloud based VPS at affordable prices based on the VMware platform. We were the first to offer to the mass market competitive VPS hosted with VMware with both HA (High Availability) and DR (Distributed Resources).

This meant your VPS had 100% access to the resources it required 100% of the time. To support our customers using our VPS services, we started providing domain names and DNS management so customers were able to use us as a one-stop shop for their VPS and domain requirements.

Crown Commercial Service Supplier Cloud Next are named and approved as a Crown Commercial Service Supplier, awarded through the Government's G-Cloud Digital Marketplace. As a supplier, we can provide Cloud hosting services to the UK public sector under the Crown Commercial Service framework agreements.

Spondon Rovers

Supporting local football

We are proud sponsors of Derby based Spondon Rovers 'Cherry Trees'. Our on going sponsorship and support of the team allow for investment in squad kit supplies and future growth of the team as they get older. The match day kits mean the lads look (and feel) the part and hopefully play better as a result.

This is now our sixth year of sponsorship and we look forward to seeing the team and individuals grow; hopefully one or two might even make the Premier League (we'd be happy with the Championship!).

Brick By Brick Festival 2025

Derby Cathedral

Derby Cathedral invited visitors to experience Brick by Brick – Building a Solid Foundation, a unique art installation and festival highlighting environmental sustainability through creativity and community engagement, using LEGO bricks.

At the heart of the festival is a first-of-its-kind, model of Derby Cathedral and the surrounding city centre, crafted entirely from LEGO bricks by renowned artist Brick This, showcasing local landmarks and businesses.

Cloud Next were proud to support and sponser this great event at the heart our own - Derby.


Shrek The Musical Jr.

Supporting local theatre

Cloud Next were proud to sponsor the Rising Stars Musical Theatre production of 'Shrek The Musical Jr.' a youth musical theatre group based in Derbyshire. The front and back of house did fantastic with everybody thoroughly enjoying all performances.

Rising Stars was founded by Phil and Louise Simcox in 2021 who share over 40 years of experience in amateur and professional theatre across the East Midlands. We look forward to supporting them, the volunteers, staff and all performers in future productions.

Derbyshire and Leicestershire Scouts

2024 Netherlands Cycling Trip

Cloud Next sponsorship helped to fund the May 2024 Derbyshire and Leicestershire Scouts cycling trip around the Netherlands - Fietskamp! The event was a weeklong trip, with a ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, staying in campsites at Rotterdam, Baarn and Den Haag.

Nearly 50 young people participated in the event, with everyone cycling around 400 kilometres; an incredible achievement! Training started in August 2023 and progressed all through the Autumn, Winter and Spring, with most people completing around 500-1000km during that time. Well done to all involved.

Promoting best practices for WordPress websites

WordPress Accessibility Day is a 24-hour global event dedicated to promoting and learning website accessibility best practices for WordPress websites. Originally started in 2020 by the WordPress core Accessibility Team, WP Accessibility Day is now an independent event volunteer organised by members of the Accessibility Team and other community members.

Thier mission is to demystify website accessibility for WordPress developers, designers, content creators, and users so that they can more easily build websites that work for everyone, regardless of ability. Cloud Next are a proud sponsor of WordPress Accessibility Day.

We continually invest & develop our network and infrastructure. HTTP/2 support, IPv6 integration, 1Tbps+ Anti-DDoS protection, Malware Scanning and a PCI-DSS compliant platform plus much more comes as standard with all of our hosting packages.

We do not and will never charge you extra for these features that provide faster hosting, site protection, provide security and future proof your Cloud Next hosting.
